Oak would like to welcome Matt
Hooker and Travis
Doran to the Oak pro team.Travis and Matt
are true brothers and its great to have them here
in the Oak family. You can check them both out in
the new Oak Video along with all the rest of the
Oak team in stores this spring.
Its been a long hot summer but we are definitely
stoked on all the new stuff we were able to work
on and get done for the Oak 2008 lineup. First off,we added
our first pro model board to the linepup
for our good buddy and well deserving pro team
rider Ben Horan. This deck has an edge
like no other and concave that'll definitley make
you blink twice. It definitely took a while to get
it right, but after numerous phone calls, emails and
3rd grade drawings,i finally figured out where he
was coming from and think we hit the nail on the
head. Congrats Ben,we're all stoaked for you. Next
up,we talked to the the oak team and decided to
do some modifications on this year's team board. We
pushed out the concave a little more to the edges
to increase the surface area and added a half inch
to the nose. The asymm definitely sticks out like
a sore thumb and we think you'll dig it.
We have two new products this year we are really
stoked on-The Oak Rebar Fin and
Oak's Udders. The new fin and udders are both
constructed with the same materials used in harder
skate wheels and bowling balls. Both have metal
screw inserts that were built in with the mold.
No more worries about your screws ripping out of
the threads. These things are tough. The new fins
are shorter and a little fatter than last years
and if you were wondering about the udders, you get
two of them, drill your holes, slap 'em on
your deck, and lock into your bluntslides like you
mean it. We are all currently in love with these
for sure. You will be able to buy the Oak rebar
fins and Oaks Udders on the oak website and at your
local shop. Oh,and if you decide to pick up a Oak
team deck for 2008, the udders come stock with that
deck and the rebar fins comes stock with all six
of the boards in the 2008 lineup!
All the 2008 boards will again have the bombproof
PBT bottom. This year all the oak boards are sealed
with a two part hand rolled epoxy resin system.
This adheres the interior fibres of the wood together
and actually waterproofs the wood and prevents any
warping. Then we top it off with multiple coats
of a top of the line marine grade varnish. We have
been skating on this new sealant all summer and
it is some amazing stuff and definitley adds some
noticeable overall pop to the board. The Oak team
worked hard all summer filming and put together
a great team video, keep an eye out for it
in your local shop and a free one here and there
with a purchase of a oak deck! yee-ha!

So lots of cool stuff is happening and we thought
we would let you know. It's been a while since our
last up date and the epitapth, epitaph, whatever,
..... Well it's an obit for a cat. Sorry.
Early May saw a spanking new release from one our
newest riders, David Hanson.
David made a rad wakeskate film Called Esoteric
w/ his brothers in shred. The kids rip. Buy it.
Ben "The self leveler" Horan flew
out to Portland and filmed a spot for Nike
6.0. We reckon it will play during
the summer Xtremepalooza-festivaloflightsgames.
Hey Nike!, If you're reading this. Pay Ben
lots of money!!! He's awesome.
Mikey, Stephen and Greg (Our graphic Mexican),
he really is Mexican, are back at the drawing board
for 08. New shapes, gadgets, and pretty much
what you would expect from guys who use a cow as
their mascot. Greg will be donning his wrestling
mask once again and he gets rowdy when that thing
goes on. Gabe's tuning up the van, so we
will see you in O-Town come Sept.
For all you epicureans of tasteful apparel, we
will be selling softies and neato stuff through
our site. Something for the fellas and the ladies.
No we will not be selling our decks on the site
so don't get all twitchy and hit the chat labs.
The Oak lads have been
making their peers earn their spots in the comps.
You know it!!!!!!
Stu Shinn has channeled Rodney Mullen Jr.
You guys just wait. You have no freaking idea. Keep
your eyes on the horizon. WOW!
Caruso was assailed by a disgruntled water yeti
earlier this season and has missed some days on
the water but Ben's a go getter and will be handing
that gangly primate his lunch soon. Ben looks
good in tight pants ladies. Just thought you should
know.
Horan again! He's homeless now and on the
road w/ Kyle, Josh, and all the rowdy LaSewer
banditos.
These guys are seriously out there and doing it
for all the right reasons. Support 'em. Buy the
upcoming Beans and Rice wakeskate film of awesomeness.
Be awesomeized!!!!!
The Oak team is unreal.
Their rippage is uncharted but we are catching it
on film for a booth release at Expo. Careful of
the small green dragon.
Thanks for all your love and hate.

R.I.P. Skillit (Skillator) Your semi fuzzy belly
and odd noises will be missed.
Skillit split the scene on March 1st 2007. Mikey
thinks he ate a moth ball but I think he was tired
of my son trying to wrestle him. Rest in peace buddy.
Oak would like to welcome David
Hanson and Stuart
Shin to the Oak Pro Team and Travis Doran
to the amature team. We are stoked more than ever
to have them as part of the Oak family. A big congrats
to Oak rider Ben Horan for signing on with
Nike
6.0.
The '07 boards are in production right now in
our U.S. facility. We are now more hands-on
than ever with the production and development of
all of our boards. We have already started working
on new concepts and ideas for 2008 to advance the
progression of Oak decks and products. Keep an eye
out for sure. You should start seeing the '07
boards in shops by late February and early March.
Oak would like to welcome Jesse Landry to
the Oak pro team and Lance
Duffett to the the Oak amateur team.Heres
a a vid of Jesse and be on the lookout for a
new vid we're getting together of Lance.
The new Oak
2007 line is done,so be sure to check it out.
We had the Oak booth again at surf expo in Sept.
and we were showing off the new 2007 boards.
Everything went super good and we here at Oak would
like to thank all the new shops that jumped on board
to carry the Oak product and thanks to last years
shops for staying on board too and thanks to everyone
who has supported us over the past couple
years, whether it be riding our boards or just shooting
us an email or phone call from time to time and
keeping in touch. Thanks! Hopefully you will start
seeing the new 2007 Oak stuff in shops before Xmas.
We put together a really sweet Oak team video that
we debued at Surf Expo.If you didn't get a chance
to check it out, soon you will be able to see it
right here.So stay tuned!
Keep an eye out for some new Oak am riders and a
couple more pro-shreds that we'll be adding to the
Oak amphibious assault roster for the new season.
Ben Horan's new little Oak video that him and Jarrod
H. threw together. Quality stuff, for sure! Ben
Horan will also be heading to Mexico this october
to film his part for Josh Jansson's and Kyle Walton's
new video their putting out. After seeing"in
its travels", we know we got something tasty
to look forward too,for sure!
Check out the article on Oak co-founder Mikey T.'s
boat in Alliance wakeskate mag. Click

Be on the Lookout for some Oak sponsored events
this coming spring in the Orlando and Tampa Fl.
areas.
Oak was the board sponsor for "The lonestar
wakeskate jam" in Austin TX this past august.
All went great and the riding was unbelievable by
everyone who participated. Kirby, Mikey T., Ben
Horan, Ben Caruso and Gabe all drove to TX in the
veggie grease fueled Oak team van. It was a super
fun trip and we didn't spend a penny on gas! Sweet!
Thanks Gabe for your ingenuity!
Oaks other half Stevey H.'s son Fin celebrated his
1 year birthday on oct,17.Happy Birthday you little
punk!
